So...why Newport?
We've always wanted to have our wedding in a special destination. As soon as we visited Newport, we fell in love with the city! We hope you will, too.
What is the dress code for your wedding?
Black Tie Preferred (have some fun with it!)
Long dresses for ladies and tux or dark suit for gentlemen!
Where should I fly into?
We recommend flying into Providence Airport (PVD) since it is only a 30-minute drive to downtown Newport and has direct flights from most cities! However, if you prefer to fly into Boston, there is an hour-long train that travels from South Station to Providence (which we can personally vouch for; very efficient and convenient!).
Should I rent a car?
It is entirely up to you! What we can say, though, is that the longest car ride you will have to take during the weekend will be to and from the airport. Once the weekend's festivities kick off, everything will be within a 3-mile radius of each other. Most places can be easily walked to depending on the hotel you are staying in, but we will also have a few busses and vans to help transport larger groups to and from hotels to the venues, if necessary. Ride share services (Uber, Lyft, etc.) are plentiful for the shorter treks!
What is the easiest way to get to and from your wedding venue(s)?
We will be providing transportation to and from the reception as well as the welcome party on Friday! Drop-off and pickup locations will be decided once we know where the majority of our guests will be staying. As for the wedding ceremony on Saturday, we kindly ask that you find your own way. If you decide to stay in a hotel that is listed on our Accommodations + Travel page, most places should be about a 5-minute drive away (maximum!).
Will there be other events to attend during the wedding weekend - besides the ceremony and the reception?
We will be hosting a welcome party on Friday night for all guests at The Landing Restaurant. We encourage you to give yourself enough time on Friday to settle in and explore the town before the sun sets - it truly is a beautiful area!
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Everything will be indoors, with the exception of the Cocktail Hour at Rosecliff Mansion.
What is the weather like in the area?
While we can't predict the weather, typically Rhode Island in June sits in the sweetest of spots - aka, low 70s and sunny during the day, with a slight breeze coming in off the water.
What date should I RSVP by?
Please return your RSVP by May 1, 2025. You will be receiving a separate invitation with RSVP details.
Will there be kids at your wedding?
Because of the size constraints of the venue, we are limiting it to only kids of immediate family!
Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?
Yes, there will be a gap between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM (the end of our ceremony to the beginning of our cocktail hour). We have set up a couple of Trolly Tours for those interested to enjoy after the ceremony for fun. We also recommend walking around by the water and taking in all the sites!
